Summer Season Windup 2026

The BWDA Summer Season Windup was held at the Marmion Angling & Aquatic Club on Saturday 13th June 2026 with 92 players/partners in attendance.

President Tim Anscombe gave the mandatory welcome, introductions and set out the evenings agenda.

There was a pause & recognition initially to remember Graham Lovell (Wanneroo Gold) who recently passed away. Graham was a true gentleman, loved his darts and always had time for you. RIP Graham.

The Mini Darts & Head’s & Tail’s game made a welcome return due to overwhelming player demand. With the customary door and multiple prize raffle along with the “Big Mystery Prize”, tickets were purchased in abundance hoping to secure one of the fantastic prizes on offer.

Prizes varied from an overnight stay at The DoubleTree on Hilton at Elizabeth Quay in Perth, multiple gift vouchers for various outlets and many more selected prizes. Congratulations to all winners on the night, enjoy your rewards…Especially Graham McFadyen & Wife who cleaned up…

The presentation of trophies awarded were for Minor Premiers (All Grade’s) & Grand Final Winners along with individual awards for most & highest pegs, plus players first 180. Captains & Players in attendance received the trophy’s on behalf of their respective teams. All trophies were well received.

Congratulations to all Winners & Runner-up Teams.

The President’s Speech recognised how far the association has come since its inception in 1982, noting this would not be possible without the continued support and dedication of many, many people & players over the years. The continued growth in the Association is something to behold and is the envy of most other local darting associations.

There was also recognition of the hard working Committee, especially Maureen & Paul for the effort put in to ensure the smooth running of the association & events. Also a very special mention to Steve Allan who again couldn’t be with us on the night but was able to prepare the presentation for the event in advance.

The current committee focus is to continue to drive benefits, streamline process where possible and ensure the Bluewater Website becomes the single information point for all things Bluewater. Tim also mentioned about the DartConnect pricing increase per season (commencing at the start of the Summer Season 2067/27) and also advised about the updated Bluewater website coming online week of June 13th.

Also there was a very big thank you to David & Leigh-Anne for providing the music which was very well received. Dave is a local acoustic & vocal musician who also plays in the Perth Dire Straits tribute band around WA. (David Atkinson – Shangri La Road, can be found on Facebook).

And lastly, but not least a very BIG thank you to the Marmion & Angling Aquatic Club (MAAC) for allowing the BWDA to celebrate the end of the Summer Season, along with providing exceptional service, food buffet and environment. Also to those many people who contributed throughout the night to keep it running smoothly.

The evening wrapped up just after 10:45pm with all patrons enjoying another excellent social evening amongst players, family & friends.

Until next time, see you at the oche
